14th - 15th August Highbridge Farm, Fergies' Vintage Harvest Happening Highbridge Lane, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 6HN, and in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. It is run by the Hampshire branch of the Friends of Ferguson Heritage Society, an organisation dedicated to preserving Ferguson and Massey Ferguson Tractors and equipment. It gives people a chance to see how harvesting was done in the past, from the 1920s up to the 1970s. All the exhibits are privately owned and include tractors, binders and combine harvesters. There is also a display of steam threshing, tractor and trailer rides, refreshments, displays and trade stalls. The event is open from 10 - 4 pm each day and entrance is £4 per day with accompanied Children (under 10) free. 21st August 2.30 pm - HEDGE END HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNUAL SHOW Hedge End Horticultural Society is holding its annual produce show on 21st Aug in the Hedge End Village Hall at 2-30pm. We have 40 classes for members to enter including flowers, fruit and vegetables. Other sections are baking, preserves, photography and flower arranging. Hedge End is the subject of the photo competition
In the Floral Art section, we are having a class for men only, it is to include wood. This class was popular last year. It’s surprising what men can do! |
